Apple, Spotify and Coca Cola are just among the big names who migrated their sites to the new Google Cloud Platform. Before 2017 started, I transferred some of my websites to Google Cloud servers. I was excited because I knew the benefits of hosting under Google compute engine would pay back eventually. And I was right because after just a week of being hosted at Google, I saw traffic improvement on my sites. Every online business knows what that means. More traffic = more revenue.
Why I Switched to Google Cloud?
Google Cloud is a future-proof infrastructure compute engine. Even though it is relatively new in the Cloud, it is already the biggest and most powerful contender to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Its secure and fast performance is amazing. I like how fast the scaling up process time, too.
The major reason why I switched to Google Cloud is the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) benefits. I have this crazy hypothesis that if your website is hosted by Google, you could be getting special ranking treatment. LOL Of course, that is just my crazy theory. The truth is, your SEO will improve better because your server will be a topnotch, your site will be faster and there will be no downtime on your end even on traffic spikes, therefore good SEO. Good SEO will result to higher ranking.

I also like how I can choose a Data Center closer to my country. My old hosting’s Data Center used to be in New York, ugh not so good to my target audience who are in the Philippines.
I am so impressed with the overall performance of my sites served by Google Cloud. My server is always healthy. Zero glitches and zero downtime so far even on high traffic days.
